Things to do:

 

We have been to Puerta Vallarta about 10 times.  We have done pretty much every adventure tour they offer.  There is definitely "something for everyone".  If you feel like sitting on the beach all day drinking cervasa, do it.  The zoo is close by where you can play with baby tigers.  If you want to get on a whale watching cruise, you can.  There is a "Rhythms of the night" performance that is similar to Circus de ole in Vegas.  For the more adventurous, the all day Eco adventure tour is awesome...You take a jet boat to a secluded beach, get in a decommissioned army transport, bounce up the mountain a ways where you get on a donkey and continue up the mountain until you find some zip lines that take you to a waterfall you must repel down to get back to the beach where there is lunch and cold beer waiting for you.
