We have stayed in Puerto Vallarta several times, we are recomending that our guests stay at Barcelo.
Pools are great, drinks are strong. Food is mostly average but we were able to find some gems at most of the restaurants. Krissy recommends trying the stuffed avocado and the shrimp entrée at the Spanish restaurant was quite good.
The rooms are exquisite. We had a junior suite that was beautiful with fantastic balconies. The beach is not as wonderful but the pools and sitting areas on the property made up for that. The plus side of the poor beach was the open bay allowed for more wildlife sightings. On our trip we watched from our balcony schools of dolphins, a school of smaller fish, and flocks of birds all make their way through bay.
